Study on the Expression and Significance of MTA1 in Invasive Breast Cancer

Objective: To explore the expression of MTA1 in invasive breast cancer and its clinical pathological significance. Methods: Carcinoma tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues were chosen from the tumor edge( 3 cm) of 30 patients with breast cancer treated from January 2010 to December 2012 in the first affiliated hospital of Gannan Medical University. Some othercarcinoma tissues and the distal normal tissues of another 8 patients with breast cancer were chosen.RT-PCR was used to detect MTA1 u0027s expression in breast cancer tissues,adjacent non-tumor area and distal normal tissues. Results: The difference between MTA1 mRNAu0027s expression in tumor tissues and its adjacent non-tumor tissues was significant( P = 0. 03). The relationship between MTA1 and tumor clinical pathology parameters had no statistical significance in the tumoru0027s adjacent tissues or tumor tissues( P 0. 05). But,in terms of ER,PR status,its Her-2 / neu status and the number of lymph node metastasis,the difference of MTA1 in tumoru0027s adjacent tissues and tumor tissues had statistical significance. For patients with or without lymph node metastasis,the difference of MTA1 in tumoru0027s adjacent tissues and tumor tissues was statistically significant. At the same time,for patients with a tumor size 5 cm,the difference of MTA1 in tumoru0027s adjacent tissues and tumor tissues was statistically significant. MTA1 mRNAu0027s expression in tumor tissues and the distal normal tissues had significant difference( Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test,n = 8,P = 0. 012). Conclusion: By quantitative analysis,MTA1 is expected to become a biological indicator with higher sensitivity,better exclusiveness and higher effectiveness for the study of breast cancer metastasis.
