The experience of perioperative nursing intervention for the repair of cleft Lip and palate

Objective The aim of this study was to introduce the experience of the perioperative nursing intervention for repair of cleft lip and palate.Method There were 365 patients in this study including 272 case in International Smiling Action in 1994. Before operation the patients were sent for psychological nursing for 2～3 hours.After operation the patients were sent to recovering room and the respiratory system,circulating system and nervous system were monitored.Results 344 cases were cured and 2 cases died,and 19 cases were failed to be surgically repaired because of perioperative complications.Conclusion The perioperative nursing intervention for repair of cleft lip and palate is very important.Difficult eating and systematic dysplasia are the major reasons for surgical failure.
