Abstract
After combining with ST2 receptor, IL-33, a newly discovered cytokine, can activate the NF-κB and MAPK pathways after a series of signal transmission, so that it not only can promote the concentration of inflammatory cells in nasal mucous, such as eosinophils cells, basophils cells and mast cells, but also can promote the release of cytokines, such as IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13, in order to promote the occurrence of allergic rhinitis. So IL-33/ST2 signal pathway is closely related with the occurrence of allergic rhinitis, and it plays a key role in the occurrence process of the disease. Anti IL-33 antibody is expected to become the new means for treatment of allergic rhinitis and with a great application prospect. This paper mainly summarized the research progress on relationship between IL-33/ST2 signal pathway and allergic rhinitis.
