Study on Quality Evaluation of Land-Use Map Generalization

As a kind of typical thematic map,land use map has spatial characteristics of full coverage,non-overlapping and seamless in space and obvious hierarchies on the semantic.Evaluating the quality of integrated map is of great significance to improving the timeliness and availability of land use data.In this paper,method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is applied to the study of generalization quality evaluation of land use map.Firstly,geometric constraint,topological constraint,structural constraint and gestalt constraint are proposed based on the idea of generalization constraint.Meanwhile,quality evaluation indexes of one object,two objects and several objects are determined.All of these indexes compose the evaluation set.Secondly,fuzzy comprehensive matrix is built by evaluation set and evaluation rank set,which is formed by evaluation rank of indexes.Finally,weight set is confirmed according to different inferences to generalization quality of each index.And evaluation results are received by fuzzy computation.Taking the generalization of rural settlements as an example,the whole process is introduced in detail.This quality assessment method of land use data generalization is proved effective.By analyzing the results of evaluation,problems in generalization can be found,and the process can be improved,which proves method mentioned in the paper effective.All of the study on quality evaluation of generalization of land use map in this paper can provide technical support to build multi-scale land use data.
