Abstract
Endoscopic biliary stenting has become mainstay of palliation for unresectable biliary malignancies. However, only bile duct stenting has limited effect in prolonging patients’ survival and most of them die within 6 months. Endobiliary radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is newly evolved therapy for this setting, but its survival benefit has not been well proven. The aim of this randomized, controlled, multicenter study is to evaluate whether endoscopic RFA can improve overall survival of patients with advanced cholangiocarcinoma.
