Abstract
Objective To investigate the health status of blood donors in Madagascar, and to discuss the existing safety problems in clinical blood transfusion. Methods Retrospective statistical analysis of the raw serological index data, including HBsAg,anti-HCV,anti-HIV and anti-TP,from donors in Madagascar between January 2008 and December 2012 were conducted. Results Between January 2008 ~ December 2012 were conducted,in a total of 3 090 blood donors specimens, the positive rate of HBsAg was 3. 01%,and 1. 91% for anti-HCV,0. 87% for syphilis,0. 36% for anti-HIV,5. 99% didn't pass the detection. Conclusion The positive rate of HBsAg was significantly lower than Chinese population in this region( 10%),HCV was about 3% lower than infection rate, and AIDS infection rate was almost one case of anti-HIV positive in every 300 blood donors, far higher than that in the South Africa and in some regions of China.
