RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ERYTHROCYTE DEFORMABILITY AND ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANE LIPID PEROXIDATION INJURY AND PLASMA sC_(5b-9) IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

Objective To explore the relationship between the erythrocyte deformability (ED) and erythrocyte membrane lipid peroxidase (LPO), plasma level of complement activation composition (sC 5b 9 ) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods By means of erythrocyte deformability apparatus, thiobarbituric acid method and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method, the changes of erythrocyte filtration index (EFI), LPO and sC 5b 9 were measured in 52 AMI patients. Results The EFI, LPO, sC 5b 9 were significantly higher in AMI patients than those in the control and old myocardial infarction (OMI) groups, and the difference was significant ( F=26.457-34.601, q=8.620-16.406, P 0.001). The EFI, LPO, sC 5b 9 were higher in patients with ventricular arrhythemia (VA) and the dead than those in patients without VA and survivals ( t = 10.827 -18.772, P 0.001) . The EFI was positively correlated with LPO and sC 5b 9 in AMI patients ( r=0.676, 0.824 , P 0.001 ). Conclusion The decrease of ED in AMI patients is closely related to lipid peroxidative injury of erythrocyte and plasma complement activation .
