The Comparative Histology Study of Ti-75 and Pure Titanium in Dog's Femurs after Long Time Implanted.

Objective:In order to make up the shortcoming of the mechanical performance of pure titanium and seek for the new oral implant material,we studied the new titanium alloy named Ti-75(TiAlMoZr) whose mechanical performance is better than pure titanium.Methods:Comparative with pure titanium,we implanted these two kinds of material in the dog's femurs bone.After 3-months,6-months,12-months,24-months,36-months,the interfaces between bone and implant were observed with X-ray,light microscope examination of undecalcified slices of bone with implant,scanning electronic microscope.Results:That Ti-75 implant surfaces integrate with the bone closely without fiber connective tissue.The interface structure of bone implanted with pure titanium is similar with that of Ti-75.Conclusions:The biocompatibility of Ti-75 is about the same as pure titanium.
