Abstract
•Electrodeposition of polydopamine (PDA) redox polymer films onto screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE).•Biocompatibility of the modified electrode, designated as PDA-SPCE, evaluated through sessile contact angle measurements.•Electrocatalytic activity of PDA-SPCE characterized by voltammetry, chronoamperometry and impedance spectroscopy.•The electrochemical signal of guanine was obtained at low potential and with good sensitivity.
