Association of Pre-Implant Inflammatory Profile and Functional Recovery with Chronic LVAD Unloading
The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation(2016)
Abstract
s S11 Conclusion: In a single university cohort with a patient population similar to the INTERMACS database, the use of a thoracic instead of abdominal driveline exit site resulted in a lower device-related infection rate. Further study of alternative driveline exit sites is warranted to reduce the burden of infectious complications in LVAD recipients.
