Abstract

•Magnetic amine/Fe3O4 functionalized biopolymer resin was prepared for dye uptake.•The characters of resin were determined by VSM, TGA, XRD, SEM, TEM, FT-IR and XPS.•This novel amine/Fe3O4-resin could achieve rapid separation from effluents.•Chemical regeneration of the saturated amine/Fe3O4-resin was conducted.•The adsorption followed the pseudo second order model and Langmuir model.
