Abstract
Human MutT homologue (human mutT homologue 1 hMTH1), also known as NUDT1, is a human 7, 8-dihydro-8-oxoguaninetriphosphatase mainly in nucleotide pool. MTH1 overexpresses in various cancers, such as human lung cancer, renal cancer, breast cancer and so on, which could dehydrate 8-oxodGTP in nucleotide pool and it prevents cancer cells from ROS induced DNA damage. MTH1 is needed for cancer cell survival. However, MTH1 is non-essential in normal cells. MTH1 is the marker of cell oxidized stress and supposed to be a potential therapeutic target of cancer. The purpose of our investigation is to determine the expression of hMTH1 in MM cell lines and patients’ myeloma cells and its potential clinic significance.
