Background Attendance at structured diabetes education (SDE) for people with newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is associated with improved outcome and recommended by United Kingdom’s (UK) National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and International Diabetes Federation Global Guideline for T2DM (IDF, 2012).
