摘要
Mortality in young calves was investigated in an organized dairy farm of 125 local Omani breed cattle. Seventeen calves of either sex, aged 20 to 25 days, reported to have chronically died in February, 2009 after showing gradual weight loss, depression, swollen lymph nodes, icterus and respiratory distress. Postmortem lesions predominated by severe enlargement of spleen, lymph nodes, liver and kidneys. These organs were studded with pea sized grayish-white masses distributed on surfaces and also in the parenchyma. Lungs were oedematous and found inflated. Microscopic lesions in liver, spleen, kidneys, lymph nodes, lungs and heart consisted of preponderance of pleomorphic neoplastic lymphocytes with round to polymorphic nuclei and many mitotic figures replacing normal parenchyma.
