•SPE disk method for extraction of pharmaceutically related compounds was developed.•The method was optimized for whole-water samples from a real contaminated locality.•SPE disk method enabled one-step extraction of water and suspended particulate matter.•The final analytical method was successfully applied for the analysis of real samples.
