A Radio Grid Monitoring Method Based on Independent Component Analysis with Empirical Mode Decomposition Denoising

Due to the rapid development of wireless communication networks, electromagnetic environment are becoming much more intricate. Traditional radio monitoring systems are facing challenges. Grid monitoring is considered to be a promising architecture for monitoring systems. However, the layouts and corresponding signal processing methods of the grid monitoring systems are needed to be studied. In this paper, we propose a novel two-layer overlapping structure for grid monitoring systems, and apply Independent Component Analysis (ICA) as a competitive blind source separation algorithm. Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is introduced to denoise the monitored signals. A complete processing procedure of monitored signals is implemented. Simulation based on Matlab software is conducted to verify the performance of the proposed scheme.
