KiddyAttack: A virtual reality game to raise awareness of children with cancer about their disease

The treatments for cancer are one of the most invasive procedures that can cause anxiety and sleep problems to children. There is evidence indicating that teaching children with cancer about their disease can help them to cope the effect of the treatment, and in this way, they could reduce their levels of anxiety and stress during the treatment. In this article we present the design process that guided KiddyAttack, a serious virtual reality game to raise awareness among children with cancer about their disease. The results of this study offers a set of design considerations for the development of games for children with cancer.
