Abstract
•Grit-blasting and H2SO4 etching were able to increase PEKK surface roughness but no impact on resin-PEKK TBS.•Thermo-cycling can decrease significantly the TBS on silica-coated PEKK.•Tribochemical silica-coated or sulfuric acid-etched PEKK illustrated an increase of Weibull moduli on TBS after thermocycling.
