The total IgM, IgA and IgG antibody responses to pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccination (Pneumovax®23) in a healthy adult population and patients diagnosed with primary immunodeficiencies.

•Determination of IgM, IgA and IgG responses in Prevnar®-naïve adults.•Responses were determined 4–6 weeks and 6 years post-vaccination.•The Pneumovax® IgM and IgA but not IgG responses were influenced by age.•6 years post vaccination some responses were still evident.•These ranges were used to assess primary immunodeficiency (PID) patients.
