Tissue expanders; review of indications, results and outcome during 15 years' experience.

•Over-expansion from 2.1 to 4.5 times of the volume can be done.•We had 12% cases for re-expansion.•We had 9.1% cases for second expansion and 2.9% cases for third expansion.•Re-expansion is possible as long as you have enough thickness of dermis.•The complications are rare, the most frequent: perforation of skin (11%).
