Crystallization and properties of poly(ethylene terephthalate)/layered double hydroxide nanocomposites.

Layered double hydroxide (LDH) platelets with different metal elements (MgAl-, CaAl-) and interlayer anions (carbonate, stearic anion) were synthesized and incorporated with poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) as nucleating agents by solution blending method, which enhanced the crystallization temperature and accelerated the crystallization rate of PET.
