The development of anthelmintic resistance with best practice control of nematodes on commercial sheep farms in the UK.

•Development of benzimidazole resistance was slower on farms using best practice principles compared to farms carrying out traditional worm control.•Anthelmintic use was significantly lower on best practice farms.•Dose response assays were more sensitive than discriminating dose assays to measure change in sensitivity to anthelmintics.
