摘要
•Hyperkalemia, defined as serum potassium level higher than 5 mEq/L, is common in the liver transplantation setting.•Hyperkalemia may induce fatal cardiac arrhythmias; it should be monitored and treated accordingly.•Identification of the predictive risk factors will improve the quality of anesthesia management through early pre-emptive intervention in patients who are at high risk for developing hyperkalemia during living-donor liver transplantation.•Our results revealed that prolonged anesthesia time, preoperative serum albumin levels, and intraoperative red blood cell transfusion are determinant factors in the development of intraoperative hyperkalemia.
