Lamotrigine encapsulated intra-nasal nanoliposome formulation for epilepsy treatment: Formulation design, characterization and nasal toxicity study.

•Lamotrigine nanoliposome was optimized using formulation design approach.•LTGNLopt shown nano size with high entrapment and drug release.•The permeation and CLSM study showed the efficient penetration from the intranasal route.•The toxicity study revealed unremarkable change in epithelial lining.•It was concluded that formulation design significantly affect the optimization of LTGNLs.
