Abstract
•The right inferior frontal cortex (rIFC) is associated with inhibition.•Here we test whether a modulation of rIFC activation improves emotional regulation.•80 participants were randomly assigned into an anodal and sham stimulation group.•Anodal tDCS of the rIFC attenuates sustained fear.•This might be relevant for treatment of anxiety disorders.
