Abstract

•Metabolites in the serum and urine were analyzed after hepatectomy.•The Fischer ratio significantly decreased after liver resection in serum.•The changes in serum taurine levels were related to the white blood cell count after operation.•These findings highlight the usefulness of metabolome analysis for characterizing perioperative patterns.
