Infrasound induces coronary perivascular fibrosis in rats.

•This study evaluated the morphological changes in rat coronary arteries induced by pure infrasound, created in a laboratory-controlled electroacoustic experiment.•It is the first study assessing the influence of an anti-inflammatory agent on these changes.•The results show that infrasound induces coronary perivascular fibrosis in rats and raise the possibility that an underlying inflammatory mechanism exists.
