Study of green nanocomposites based on corn starch and cellulose nanofibrils from Agave tequilana Weber.
Carbohydrate Polymers(2018)
Abstract
•Cellulose nanofibrils extracted from agave waste were used as reinforcements.•Nanocomposites using only natural, native and renewable materials were prepared.•Mechanical properties improved when the content of nanofibrils increases.•Hydrophilicity of the matrix (starch) predominantly controls the water absorption.
