Evaluation of an 11.2% spinetoram topical spot-on solution for the control of experimental and natural flea (Ctenocephalides felis) infestations on cats in Europe.

•Spinetoram was more effective against fleas than fipronil/(S)-methoprene on cats.•Spinetoram treatment significantly reduced signs of flea allergy dermatitis in cats.•Spinetoram treatment resulted in a low adverse incident rate in cats.
