Identification of adenovirus neutralizing antigens using capsid chimeric viruses

•Chimeric adenoviruses expressing recombinant hexon and fiber knob were generated.•In vitro tests suggest these are the major targets for neutralizing antibodies.•Other capsid proteins may not contribute significantly to the neutralizing antibody response.
