•Excitatory activity on the single synaptic output is studied by a simulation system.•We show that a single synaptic output depends by the activity of synaptic pools.•We suggest that NMDARs could be unblocked independently of Glu release.•Pools of excitatory synapses can influence STP and LTP of a single one.•Cooperativity among synapses perform dendritic computation and information processing.
