Genomic analysis of a cypovirus isolated from the eucalyptus brown looper, Thyrinteina arnobia (Stoll, 1782) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae).

•First virus of the major lepidopteran eucalyptus defoliator in Brazil was described.•Complete genome and its phylogenetic analyzes reveals an isolate of Cypovirus 14.•Presence of polyhedra turns possible their exploration in the planted forests.•Further studies will show their viability as biological control agent.
