CPEB4 regulates glioblastoma cell proliferation and predicts poor outcome of patients.

•Gliomas are highly lethal cancers, of which the most malignant and common one is glioblastoma.•CPEB4 expression is positively related to glioma pathological grade and elevated in glioblastoma.•High expression of CPEB4 in glioblastoma predicts unfavorable clinical outcome for patients.•Downregulation of CPEB4 significantly reduces glioblastoma cell growth.
