Long-term Prognosis After Lung Transplantation: A Monocentric Study in 510 Patients.

•Lung transplantation is the final treatment option for patients with respiratory failure. Morbidity and mortality rates associated with complications are high.•Long-term prognosis of transplant recipients is still unknown despite studies which have analyzed baseline characteristics that could predict shorter survival.•Some baseline characteristics are able to predict worse outcome after lung transplantation. Patients diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, older recipients, being an inpatient at the time of the procedure, and receiving corticoids treatment before the transplantation show a significant decrease in terms of survival.
