Identification and characterization of two novel Gammapapillomavirus genomes in skin of an immunosuppressed Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis patient.

•Two novel gamma-HPV genomes were isolated and cloned from the skin of an EV-patient.•The L1 ORF of HPV_MTS3 was 77% similar to its closest HPV isolate w18c39.•The L1 ORF of HPV_MTS4 was 91% similar to its closest HPV isolate EV03c60.•The novel HPV_MTS3 and HPV_MTS4 belong to species gamma-22 and gamma-7, respectively.
