Presurgical treatment with somatostatin analogues in growth hormone-secreting pituitary adenomas: A long-term single-center experience.
Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery(2018)
Abstract
•Presurgical SSA treatment did not contribute to higher remission rate in macro- and giant pituitary adenomas.•Invasive macro- and giant adenomas may benefit from SSA pretreatment.•Nadir GH level on OGTT 7 days after surgery (GH-7) has significant predictive ability for remission.•For surgical treated patients, gross total resection was a crucial step to achieve endocrine control.
