Hypoglycemia awareness among insulin-treated patients with diabetes in Malaysia: A cohort subanalysis of the HAT study.

•Symptomatic hypoglycemia was frequent in Malaysian patients with diabetes.•Half of patients with T1DM and a third of patients with T2DM experienced ≥1 hypoglycemic event.•About half of patients had an impaired ability to recognize hypoglycemia symptoms.•Common responses to hypoglycemia were more contact with HCPs and more blood glucose monitoring.
