Abstract
•Buffalo fetal fibroblasts (BFF) and Wharton's jelly (BWJ) feeder cells differ in their secretory properties.•There is a difference in the time points (passages) when the optimal concentration of vital signaling molecules is present.•Second passage of BFF and sixth passage of BWJ may be elected for propagation of buffalo ESCs.•Mitomycin-C that is used to inactivate the feeder layers modulates the expression levels of key signaling molecules.
