Insight into fast lithium diffusion in disordered rock-salt omega-Li3V2O5 in a wide temperature range

Abstract
Disordered rock-salt omega-Li3V2O5 (omega-LVO) is regarded as a promising fast-charging anode material for Li-ion batteries (LIBs). The fast lithium diffusion behaviors of omega-LVO in a wide temperature range have been less studied but are critical for practical fast-charging LIBs. Here, we quantify the interfacial and kinetic properties of omega-LVO-based anodes using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Interfacial growth and lithiation evolution during EIS tests are explored in detail. The interfacial and kinetic stability is found to be responsible for long-term cyclability and fast lithium diffusion of omega-LVO anodes under high/low-temperature conditions. This work sheds light on the interfacial and kinetic behaviors of omega-LVO anodes for the development of stable fast-charging LIBs in a wide temperature range.
