Abstract
This paper deals with a multi-modal haptics system, based on motion tracking and virtual reality, for virtual and remote labs. The goal of this work is to present and discuss the design and implementation of a complete system capable of controlling the measurement instrumentation panel and object manipulation in virtual and remote labs with realistic feedback. This can also be used to measure the motor skills and the effectiveness of skill acquisition in remote educational labs. Measurements of skills in virtual training system may complement the subjective perception of a trainer with objective and quantitative evaluation.
