Abstract
We used serotype specific LPS as a natural template and a process of inverse microemulsion polymerization to prepare surface molecularly imprinted NPs that exhibited highly specific targeting to P. aeruginosa strains and infection sites, both in vivo and in vitro. In combination with drug delivery, these “magic plastic bullets” could serve as a promising alternative to the ligand-modified nanocarriers currently used for targeted diagnosis and therapy.
