Measurement and study of solar energy resource in different orientations

A measurement system of different direction solar radiation and PV generating efficiency was designed and developed to measure the generating efficiency of PV module and gain the maximum power point data by regularly scanning the output I-V curve of PV module in different orientations. The corresponding software was programmed to conduct the data mining, data processing and data calibration in order to gradually construct a database of solar resource in different orientations via computing the total solar radiant intensity, which could provide important foundation for the design, installation, and technology and benefit assessment of PV generating system. The experimental results demonstrate that the system bears high stability. And the field measurement data not only reveal the solar resource conditions in different orientations in Shenzhen SAR preliminarily, but also provide data supply for the study of a new solar radiation model. © 2016, Science Press.
