Abstract
This paper aims to study solar irradiation models to calculate the irradiance intensity on tilted surfaces based on the irradiance intensity from horizontal surface. Two simple and practical models are presented according to the relationships among direct radiation, diffuse radiation and reflect radiation and combined with relevant data measured. Comparing with the existing classical models, the proposed models required less input parameters, calculate easier and can obtain more accurate results. With these two models, the solar resource on tilted surfaces can be evaluated efficiently through irradiation data of typical years measured by meteorological observation station. And a corresponding database can be established to provide scientific guidance in building solar power generation system, including system design, engineering installation and performance evaluation. © 2016, Science Press.
