Activated Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor/TrkB Signaling in Rat Dorsal and Ventral Hippocampi Following 10-Day Electroconvulsive Seizure Treatment.

•Increased BDNF expression in ventral hippocampus by multiple ECS was confirmed.•Adaptive decrease of full-length TrkB expression in rat hippocampus was observed.•Phosphorylated TrkB expression was increased in dorsal and ventral hippocampus.•The results indicated enhanced BDNF/TrkB signaling following multiple ECS treatments.
