Abstract
Physics is an important subject and it is good that introductory physics courses are obligatory subjects in many, if not all, ICT colleges and universities in Croatia. However, these courses often cover too many different areas of physics and are presented in a traditional way - lectures / solving problems on paper / laboratories. We think that the introductory physics courses for ICT students should be more oriented towards computer programming and solving physics problems using computers. In this work we show how we plan to use SageMath, a free open-source mathematics software system licensed under the GPL, to boost students' understanding of the electric potential and the electric field.
