•This is a description of clinical outcomes of cryptococcal meningitis (CM) in persons with HIV-infection in a large Latin-American cohort.•Mortality in HIV-infected patients with cryptococcal meningitis varies across sites, and is overall very high (42%).•Many people in the cohort developed cryptococcal meningitis months to years after ART start (median time 743 days), suggesting possible ART failure or noncompliance.
