Abstract
•Convention transcervical laryngo-pharyngectomy requires a long scar which increased post-operative pain.•Transoral robotic assisted (TORS) approach allowed the surgery to be performed with only a small tracheostomy incision.•Accuracy of resection is improved with inside-out dissection, allowing adequate margins without sacrificing normal mucosa.•Robotic suturing of the jejuno-oropharyngeal anastomosis after free jejunal flap transfer allows better apposition of the mucosal margins.
