Luminescent properties of LiBaBO 3 :Ce 3+ /Tb 3+ phosphors

Abstract
A series of Ce 3+ and/or Tb 3+ doped LiBaBO 3 phosphors have been synthesized by a solid state reaction. The XRD and FTIR results indicate that the doped Ce 3+ and Tb 3+ ions have no influence on the phase of LiBaBO 3 host. For Ce 3+ or Tb 3+ single-doped LiBaBO 3 phosphors, they show emission bands originating from Ce 3+ or Tb 3+ ions when they are excited by the ultraviolet light. For Ce 3+ and Tb 3+ codoped LiBaBO 3 phosphors, tunable luminescence can be obtained through the energy transfer from Ce 3+ to Tb 3+ .
