Synthesis, Characterization, and Crystal Structures of a New Coordination Polymer of Manganese(II) Containing Dimethyl Phosphate

The reaction of MnCl2 with TMP (TMP = Trimetbyl phosphate) in THF (THF = tetrahydroforan), led to the coordination polymer [Mn-2(mu(3)-DMP)(2)(mu-DMP)(2)](n) (1) (DMP = dimethyl phosphate). This complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal structure of 1. Crystal data for 1 at -173 degrees C: triclinic, space group P (1) over bar, a = 9.7071 (11), b = 10.4482(11), c = 10.6242(11) angstrom, alpha = 88.892(2)degrees, beta = 80.829(2)degrees, gamma = 87.572(2)degrees, Z = 2, R1 = 0.0441.
