Abstract
Leaf area index (LAI) is an important biophysical vegetation variable in many models describing vegetation atmosphere interactions. This study presents a method to assimilation leaf area index(LAI) obtained by a simple downscaling technique into the World Food Studies(WOFOST) to improve simulation LAI in time series in plateau grasslands located in northeast of Qinghai province, China. Using the Sobol' global sensitivity analysis approach, serval local and regional crop parameters of WOFOST model were identified to be recalibrated. Then, the ensemble Kalman filter algorithm was introduced to assimilate the 30m LAI into the WOFOST model to update the model state for improving simulation effect.
